Comments POLICY

Hue + Culture was conceived and designed to be a community forum. The goal is to build each other up. This is not the place for harsh criticisms or negativity. We are in this together!  We welcome ideas from readers of all walks of life. However, I simply ask that those ideas be expressed with respect for one another and a whole lot of grace.

By posting on the blog, you agree to the following:

  1. You may post anonymously. I don’t recommend this, but you may do so if you wish. I may change this rule if it is abused.
  2. You may post follow-up questions. If you have a question, chances are you are not alone. Others are likely thinking similarly. Therefore, I would rather receive your comments on the blog than via email. It is the best way to address everyone at once rather than answer several similar emails.
  3. You may disagree. We welcome debate. However, we ask that if you disagree with us—or anyone else, for that matter—do so in a way that is respectful. There is way too much shouting in the public square to tolerate it here.
  4. We reserve the right to delete your comments. This is the blog from the creators at Hue + Culture. We don’t have an obligation to publish your comments. If you’re a U.S. citizen, The First Amendment gives you the right to express your opinions on your blog not ours.

Specifically, your comments will be deleted if you post something that is, (a) snarky; (b) off-topic; (c) libelous, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, profane, pornographic, offensive, false, misleading, or which otherwise violates or encourages others to violate our sense of decorum and civility or any law, including intellectual property laws; or (d) “spam,” i.e., an attempt to advertise, solicit, or otherwise promote goods and services. You may, however, post a link to your site or your most recent blog post.

  5. You retain ownership of your comments. We do not own them and we expressly disclaim any and all liability that may result from them. By commenting on the Hue + Culture, you agree that you retain all ownership rights in what you post here and that you will relieve us from any and all liability that may result from those postings.
  6. You grant Hue + Culture a license to post your comments. This license is worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, and royalty-free. You grant us the right to store, use, transmit, display, publish, reproduce, and distribute your comments in any format, including but not limited to a blog, in a book, a video, or presentation.

In short, our goal is to host interesting conversations with caring, honest, and respectful people. This simple comments policy will facilitate a positive, substantive and meaningful exchange.

Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.

Disclosures POLICY

In 2009, the Federal Trade Commission {FTC} revised their guidelines regarding endorsements and testimonials in order to protect the public from any intentionally errant or misleading advertising that has been paid for by a group or company. Since this blog is a source of income and may occasionally incorporate endorsements or testimonials, we felt it was important to disclose the following to you, our readers:

·         The content of our blog is a source of income for us and therefore may be used to promote products, services, or other businesses.

·         We will only choose to promote products/services/businesses that we have, in fact, used and that we feel will be beneficial to our readers.

·         Products provided to us by our advertising partners for our review are given to us free of charge with no cost to ourselves. This does not ensure a positive review of the product in any way.

·         You can trust us. We will always give our genuine opinion about a product or service whether or not we are partnering with the service provider and/or receiving payment to do so.

·         Our number one priority is accuracy and fairness to our readers, and we would never compromise the truth just to make a buck. Ever.

·         Mentions of associated products/services/businesses within the content of our blog may or may not be noted as an affiliate in every reference.

We hold ourselves to the highest standards of integrity and strive to deliver interesting, helpful, and encouraging content while generating a small profit to compensate us for our time, research, and ideas. We love and appreciate our readers and make it our goal to be up front and honest with every post we write.
